I’ve always been drawn to the word “connections.” It speaks to something deeper than what we see - a thread that weaves through emotion, experience, and the unseen world. True connection asks us to pause, to look closer, and to feel beyond what’s visible. When do we truly allow ourselves to connect?
For me, that awareness often begins in nature. I have a particular fascination with the intricate patterns of tree bark — its texture, tone, and resilience. Each mark tells a story: years of growth, endurance through storms, and quiet strength that persists in every season. It’s a resilient elegance of rugged artistry and color that most will simply overlook.
My journey into photographing these details began by chance — or maybe by grace. While hiking in Colorado with a brand-new camera and no idea how to use it, I took a photo that changed everything. The image revealed colors and textures I hadn’t consciously seen — a divine composition of light and life that touched my soul. It felt as though God was painting through my lens, inviting me to see the world in a new way.
Through my work, I hope to inspire others to look beyond the surface — to see beauty in imperfection, strength in struggle, color in shadows, and connection in the simplest details. Nature mirrors our own journey: scarred yet vibrant, ever-changing yet deeply rooted. Like the trees, we, too, find the strength to heal and grow with grace embracing our next season.
